However, on 1st November the judges rejected the request for immediate release made by the ambazonian leaders’ lawyers on the basis of illegal detention. President Paul Biya would have decided otherwise.

According to information received by Cameroondailyjournal, President Paul Biya have ordered their conditional release. A decision that would come on the eve of the English-speaking conference initiated by Cardinal Tumi which will be held on November 21 and 22, 2018.

According to the sources, Paul Biya is under strong international pressure in the case of Ayuk Tabe and the Anglophone crisis still raging in this part of the country.
And this release would be for the Cameroonian president a way to give a chance to peace in the country which is very politically unstable since 2016.

The demands of the College of Organizers include the release of ambazonian detained leaders and the cessation of hostilities between military and armed groups in these two regions, the abandonment of unjustified criminal proceedings and the facilitation of the return of persons displaced since October 2016.
