ANGLOPHONE CRISIS: SAD RECORD FOR CAMEROONIAN ARMY IN ANGLOPHONE REGIONS THIS WEEKEND

Two Cameroonian soldiers killed and a commissioner kidnapped. This is the record of secessionist attacks reported in English-speaking regions this weekend. Last Saturday, a soldier was killed in Mamfe in Manyu Division (Southwest Region) by secessionist fighters.

The victim was shot dead while in a bar to collect “discreetly” information about separatist fighters. He was caught off guard by armed men who arrived at the scene and opened fire. Minutes later, gunfire broke out between combatants and security forces who had come in retaliation.

On the same day, another secessionist attack was recorded at Furu-Awa in the Menchum department in the north-west. Again, a soldier was killed while on patrol with another officer who was not hit during the attack.

Yesterday Sunday, Tazisong Christopher, the Commissioner of the 3rd District Police Station in Muea, was kidnapped by secessionist fighters in Buea in the south-west. The man was stopped near a bar around 3 pm by his captors in a motorcycle.

More than forty elements of the Cameroonian defense and security forces have already been killed since last October in secessionist attacks.
