BREAKING: WUM PALACE IN FLAMES DUE TO SERIOUS SHOOTING AND KILLING BETWEEN MILITARY AND AMBAZONIAN FIGHTERS
The days of Wednesday and Thursday on 24 and 25 October respectively, have left the people Esu in fear and pain following confrontations between security forces and pro independence fighters.
Seventeen military trucks with security forces onboard, were dispatched from Wum in the evening of Wednesday October 24, 2018 to Esu, but didn’t succeed get to their destination same day, following a showdown along the way with Pro Independence fighters.
Getting to Weh was also difficult, after the Wum-Bamenda road was destroyed.
The military was reportedly on mission to reinstate the Esu Police Station but was surprised to discover, the security facility was destroyed by pro independence fighters.
The military is reported to have made their way in to Esu on Thursday October 25, 2018 after a fierce gun exchange with the fighters.
A source from Esu who anonymously spoke to MMI, confirmed several houses including the Esu palace were set ablaze on Thursday purportedly by the military. MMI gathered that four people were killed in the Thursday sporadic shootings.
Two mad people, a drunk and a blind were shot dead.
In neighbouring Weh, the corpse of a mental patient was discovered Thursday, the area was between Weh and Esu on the very Thursday.
