CAMEROON NEWS: PAUL BIYA CHALLENGE BY THE GABONESE CIVIL SOCIETY, ON THE ARREST OF MIICHEL TONG

Highly committed to denouncing the crimes of Paul BIYA’s regime in the English-speaking regions of North-West and South-West Cameroon, Michel BIEM TONG did a tremendous job of researching and documenting a number of important information that may be used as evidence in the proceedings that human rights bodies may incur against the perpetrators of the massacres in the bloody war that the Cameroonian army delivers to the separatists of Ambazonia, with harmful effects on the civilian population mainly due to the reprisals of the regular army of Cameroon.

By his numerous writings supported by credible and richly documented information, Michel BIEM TONG never ceases to call for an awareness of the international community on the terrible tragedy of the civil populations of the English-speaking regions who lead an insurrection against the regime of Paul BIYA. It is therefore a key witness to the massacres and massive violations of human rights that the Cameroonian authorities want to stifle.

Faced with this arrest of a political and arbitrary nature, the ROLBG calls on civil society, the media and human rights defenders in Cameroon, in Africa, in the countries of the free world, to a strong mobilization to demand the liberation without condition of Michel BIEM TONG of the murderous hands of the autocratic regime of the irremovable Paul BIYA.

The ROLBG calls on the Cameroonian authorities to stop persecuting journalists and human rights defenders in this country.
