NEXTTEL SCANDAL: BABA DANPULLO AND CAMEROON SCAM AND TIF DIRTY SENSE EXPOSED BY VIETNAMESE
The interlocutory trial held on November 28, 2018 resulted in a withdrawal of co-signature between the Director General of Nexttel Cameroon, supported by the Vietnamese group Viettel Global Jsc and the Deputy Director General sponsored by Ahmadou Baba Danpoulou, owner of Bestcam.
A letter from MK Do Manh Hung, the General Manager of the Vietnamese group Viettel Global Sc, addressed to the President of the Republic of Cameroon on September 10, 2018 denounced “the modification by law of the management rules of the company”. “Without any board of directors or general meeting having been seized of any malfunction of the company,
the foreign party in the investment was surprised to receive notification of a court order n ° 700 on 2 August 2018 by the President of the Court of First Instance of Douala Bonanjo granting the signing of the documents and payment instruments to the Chairman of the Board of Directors concurrently with the Directors General and Deputy Director “, indicates the correspondence.
In concrete terms, Ahmadou Baba Danpoulo, a 30% shareholder in Nexttel Cameroon shares, obtained a double signature on all the accounting and administrative documents (vouchers, transfer orders, checks, drafts, promissory notes) of the mobile phone company. through Moise Bayi, the Deputy Director General of Nexttel Cameroon claiming “excessive delays in the processing of cases and operations, detrimental to entrepreneurship and its performance …”.
Viettel Global Sc subsequently appealed against this decision to the same Douala Bonanjo Court of First Instance, which finally decided on 28 November 2018 in favor of the Vietnamese Group, which holds 70% of Nexttel Cameroon shares. The President of the Tribunal, Emmanuel Elanga, has, against all odds, reversed his decision in first instance against Viettel Global Jsc.
Ahmadou Baba Danpoulou, Chairman of the Board of Nexttel Cameroon can therefore no longer affix his hand on the accounting and administrative documents of Nexttel Cameroon, concurrently with that of the Director General. Another consequence of the reversal of the Tpi Douala-Bonanjo, the loss by Baba Danpoulou all commitments and procedures initiated in execution of the decision of 2 August 2018: payment order from banks,
Viettel Global Investment Jsc (Viettel Global) has invested more than 210 billion FCFA in the Nexttel Cameroon project through a Cameroonian company, Viettel Cameroun SA in which the Asian group holds 70% of the capital, against 30% by the Cameroon Bestcam shareholder owned by the promoter Baba Ahmadou Danpoulo.
