Yaounde court of appeal: HERE IS WHAT WAS SAID ABOUT SISIKU AYUK HEARING YESTERDAY
The lawyer Fru John Nsoh, who initiated a procedure under the law “Habeas Corpus”, is still hoping to see his clients released.
The leader of the fictitious government of Ambazonia came this Thursday, November 1 before the Court of Appeal of the Center in Yaounde. 9 other co-defendants were also present in front of the bar. The judge denied the provisional release to activists in Ambazonia and returned the case to 15 November 2018.
This is the first public appearance Sisiku Tabe since his arrested on January 5 in Abuja, Nigeria, and extradited to Cameroon with “his government”.
On October 11, lawyer Fru John Nsoh had asked for the provisional release of the activists of the Anglophone crisis without success. Ayuk També did not appear on this occasion, the fault of the absence of the warrant of extraction of the place of detention to the Court of Appeal of Yaoundé.
As a reminder, Ayuk Tabe and other English-speaking separatists are staying at the State Secretariat for Defense in Yaounde, the headquarters of the National Gendarmerie, a highly secure place. “Habeas Corpus” prohibits any form of deprivation of liberty without trial.
This law gives the arrested person the right to know why and what he is accused of. This is what claims the college of lawyers formed for the defense activists of Ambazonia.
